Meet the Managing Director

Stuart began his career in 1996 when he joined a nationwide practice as a Trainee Surveyor.  After a year he then moved to another nationwide practice to vary his experience as a young surveyor.  In 1998 Stuart then joined a new local company and during his time here he undertook a part-time university degree course in Quantity Surveying at Anglia Ruskin University and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in 2001.  Furthermore, in 2003 Stuart completed his Assessment of Professional Competency and became a Member of the RICS.  In 2003 Stuart became an Associate of the company and in 2005 he was made a Director.  In 2006 Stuart became a Member of the Association of Project Safety and has maintained this membership by continued professional development to meet the requirements of the revisions to the CDM Regulations in 2007 and more recently in 2015.   In 2015, Stuart set up Helden Consultants.

Having been in the industry for 2 decades, Stuart has vast experience and has developed a high level of expertise in many areas.  He has worked within a wide range of sectors including Health, Local Authority, Education, Residential, Industrial and Commercial. His main competencies include Measurement, Cost Planning, Post Contract Cost Control, Project Management/Employers Agent, CDM Co-ordination, Principal Designer, Insolvency and Contract Practice. Stuart has worked on negotiated, traditional, P21, design and build and measured term forms of procurement for both new build and refurbishment projects ranging from £50,000 to £50,000,000 and is fully conversant with the JCT and NEC forms of contract.  In the past he has also mentored and professionally developed a number of surveyors from trainee level to chartered status.
